Creditor/Debtor Law

Lei Jiang Law Firm represents creditors and debtors alike.  When it comes to creditors, we tailor our services to getting the highest return possible for our clients.  We negotiate with our clients’ debtors (consumer debtor or commercial debtor) to arrange repayment plans, and if this approach does not work, we will take the matter to court for resolution.  We also represent our clients when their debtors declare bankruptcy, and we fight to ensure that their debts are given preference for repayment.  Often we assist our clients with transactions from the very beginning, and can prevent prolonged collections actions by structuring our client’s deals to include specific protections such as liens and secured collateral.

Meanwhile, we offer a number of services for businesses or people who owe money.  For our debtor clients, we work with their creditors to negotiate repayment plans, loan modifications, short sales, and deed transfers in lieu of foreclosure.  We also assist our clients in preparing for and filing for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy.  We are admitted to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio.  Further, we can represent our clients in court and fight against the attachment of liens and collateral if necessary.  Here is a recent case for illustration.  A credit card company sued a client for credit card debts.  In that case, we were able to help the client to seek the relief by filing a bankruptcy. (14-14017-pmc, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Northern District of Ohio; Case No. 14CVG01594 & 14CVG01495, Parma Municipal Court).
